Questions & Answers

How long does the session last?

The experiment lasts an hour and a half.

It consists of 60 minutes of flotation and 30 minutes to receive explanations, shower before and after the experience and get ready in the private cabin.

The cleaning between two clients is done after each floatation, so we thank you in advance for not exceeding the time allotted to you.

We advise you not to make any appointment after the session to make the most of this state of relaxation in the room provided for this purpose or in our herbal tea room.

What to bring?

Each client is directed to an individual locked cabin, so it is advisable to float naked so as not to interfere with the sensory isolation experience. However, if you are more comfortable with a swimsuit, you are free to bring one as well.

During each experience, the following are provided: towels, disposable slippers, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, make-up remover, day cream, cotton disc, cotton buds, hair dryer, healing ointment for small cuts, ear plugs, head rest to float if desired.

All products used during the experience are local, eco-friendly and available for sale in the boutique at the reception desk.

Should I bring a swimsuit?

No, you don't need a swimsuit to float because you are alone in a private cabin (or a cabin for two if that's the one you've chosen).

How do I prepare?

To optimize your floatation experience, we would like to give you a few tips:

  • Do not drink any exciting drinks (coffee, green/black tea or energy drink) before you come floating.
  • Do not shave/epilate the day before or the same day as skin contact with Epsom salt may cause tingling. A healing ointment is available for small wounds.
  • Eat a light snack before coming so as not to be distracted by hunger or excessive digestion. The floatation, however, combines beautifully with the experience of fasting.
  • Flotation also combines very well with activities such as meditation or yoga on the same day because they have synergistic effects.

Can you sink if you fall asleep?

No. It is impossible to pour because of the amount of Epsom salt mixed with water (550kgs in approx. 1000 litres).

You can fall asleep peacefully, there is no risk of turning over because the blood circulation remains fluid, therefore unconscious nocturnal turning movements do not take place.

What are the hygienic conditions?

We pay particular attention to hygiene in our centre and have chosen floatation tanks with the highest hygienic standards on the market.

In addition to the already disinfecting properties of Espom salt itself, the water is emptied and refilled between each customer through 3 filters (1 micron filter, ultraviolet filter, carbon filter) coupled with a hydrogen peroxide solution. This process guarantees impeccable cleanliness.

In addition, water parameters are also monitored several times a day and each float room is cleaned and disinfected between clients.

Am I at risk of having skin problems?

On the contrary, Epsom salt, scientifically known as magnesium sulphate, is composed of small white crystals that dissolve in water and are very well absorbed by the skin, hence its main use in baths. Sulphate stimulates the body and makes the skin soft, while magnesium is effective against aging. Epsom salt also has regenerating properties following physical activity.

Can we float at 2?

Yes, we are equipped with 3 pools, two individual cocoons and an open pool that can accommodate two people.

I'm a little claustrophobic, can I float?

Yes, we have had many people who have been uncomfortable in confined spaces and we recommend starting the experience with the open pool to reduce the feeling of confinement.

For information, the floatation tank is as big as a car interior (approx. 2.40m x 1.60m). You can interrupt the experience at any time by pressing the "call waiting" button or by opening the box by pushing the lid with your hand. This way you are not locked in and free to move around.

People suffering from claustrophobia or anxiety often find real relief after a few floats.

I'm pregnant, can I float?

Yes, it is even advised and indicated to float when you are pregnant. Floating allows you to relieve the tensions accumulated in your lumbar region but also to share a special moment of connection with your future child. Thanks to the sensory isolation, the receptivity to your future child's heartbeat and movement will be increased tenfold.

I'm on my period, can I float?

Yes, it is possible to float during your period. You must use the same arrangements as when you go to the pool (tampons or cup). Floating has a beneficial effect on pre-menstrual syndrome and also helps to relieve menstrual pain.
